LTMUN 2025 Plenary: Mexico emotional over bloc head’s speech
The speech struck a deep chord with many, but none more visibly than the Delegate of Mexico, who was moved to the point of emotion. In an exclusive interview, the delegate admitted, “The speech could not have been any better. There are more pressing issues we must address as a bloc, and I agree in so many ways.”
The Mexican delegate was in full support of the bloc head’s vision, expressing confidence that Mexico is ready to collaborate in pursuit of Agenda 2030. With particular emphasis, the delegate endorsed the call for multilateralism to mean more than rhetoric, stating that “if multilateralism is to mean anything after 80 years, it must defend the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich, and the vulnerable against the powerful.”
For Mexico, which sits at the intersection of regional and global security challenges, the speech seemed to resonate strongly. The delegate’s emotional response highlighted the weight of solidarity, suggesting that Latin American and Caribbean countries can only achieve meaningful impact on the world stage by working together.
