Kazakhstan presents UN vision of a renewed path through cooperation
Addressing fellow delegates under the theme “Shaping Tomorrow, Today: Celebrating 80 Years of Multilateralism, Growth, and Security for Agenda 2030,” the Kazakh representative described diplomacy as a tool that “thrives in conferences like this, where young minds learn to think as leaders and act as partners.”
The bloc head’s speech painted a picture of Eastern Europe’s challenges:
- disrupted trade flows,
- overstretched refugee systems,
- rising energy insecurity,
- and eroding public trust in institutions, all exacerbated by the ongoing conflict.
Despite these hardships, the address highlighted signs of resilience, which include mental health protocols for conflict-affected populations gaining traction, cross-border cooperation on refugee support being strengthened, and dialogue around strategic restraint. These steps, the delegate said, demonstrate the region’s determination to “turn hardship into cohesion, and crisis into action.”
Concluding the address, Kazakhstan called on delegates to embrace collaboration, compromise, and the forging of friendships as a key to diplomacy. “Let us debate boldly, negotiate sincerely, and remind ourselves that diplomacy is not the art of winning, but the art of building a world where everyone has a place,” the delegate urged.
