Ghana Youth Observer to the United Nations – Wepia Ametame
Priscilla Wepia Ametame is a 19-year-old third year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology studying towards an LL. B degree. She was first introduced to the world of diplomacy when she entered into the 2010 Junior High School Model United Nations Conference. She went on to participate in the 2011 Middle School Model United Nations in New-York, USA. She further participated in 2017 Tertiary Model United Nations Conference where she was adjudged Over-all Best Delegate.
Priscilla has a passion for empowering women especially in deprived areas and has recently founded Legal Outreach, a non-profit organization aimed at empowering and educating women in deprived areas on their basic human rights. She also works with the ABC Charity foundation, a foundation aimed at creating jobs for single mothers on the streets.
Her desire is to make an impact not only in Ghana, but on the entire African continent. Priscilla looks forward to becoming a lawyer and working for the United Nations in the areas of Women and Children’s affairs in the near future.
Priscilla is an avid lover of stage plays and contemporary art. During her spare time, she enjoys visiting tourist sites, listening to music and playing soccer.
